Adnan Sami

Adnan Sami is a British-born Indian singer, musician, music composer, pianist and actor. He performs Indian and Western music, including for Hindi movies. His most famous instrument is the piano. A review in the US based Keyboard magazine mentioned him as the fastest keyboard player in the world and called him the keyboard discovery of the nineties. For this The Times of India has called him the Sultan of Music. Adnan had played the piano since the age of five and composed his first piece of music at the very young age. He start taking lessons in Indian classical music from the santoor maestro Pandit Shivkumar Sharma when visiting India during his school vacations. Asha Bhosle collaborated with him on a collection of love songs named Kabhi to Nazar Milao in India. The music was also composed by Adnan. The album became an at once success and topped the Indipop. Lift Karaa De, whose music video with the popular Indian actor Govinda became famous at that time. Adnan very soon became famous, which famous Bollywood director  Boney Kapoor to invite him to give music for his film. This is the starting for him to compose and sing for Bollywood and for the top Bollywood producers of that time such as  Yash Chopra and Subhash Ghai. At the same time he was declared a "superhit" by Screen Magazine, who called him the pop personality of the year. He was awarded the Padma Shri on 26 January.
